Case Study: Long-Term Electrical Support For A Home, Pool House And Business Unit
Some electrical work starts with one urgent job and grows into a long-term relationship. That was the case with Ian, who first came to TS Electrical in 2022 when we were called out to help with an electrical issue connected to his boiler.
Since then, we’ve returned for a range of projects across his home, pool house and even his daughter’s new business premises in Rye. The work has included consumer unit upgrades, surge protection, outside sockets, lighting improvements, additional sockets, a relocated light switch, a customer-supplied light fitting, and an Eddi solar diverter to control the immersion.
From Urgent Repairs To Planned Upgrades
Ian first found us after being disappointed elsewhere and needing urgent work carried out. In his own words:
“Fortunately Toby and the team had exceeded our wish list and except for the fact that they are in high demand, always manage to carry their work out to a high standard as I may be a person who expects this, and TS knows and delivers time after time.”
We know plenty of customers come to us after a poor experience with another contractor, and by that point they don’t just want the job done… They want to feel reassured. They want clear communication, proper workmanship and someone who will do what they say they are going to do.
That became the basis of the work we carried out for Ian over the following years.

Consumer Unit Upgrades With Surge Protection
One of the larger parts of the work involved replacing two separate consumer units, one for the house and one for the pool, both complete with surge protection.
For a property with different areas and electrical demands, this kind of upgrade helps improve safety, reliability and protection. Modern consumer units are designed to offer a much higher level of safety than older setups, especially when paired with the right protective devices.
We approach this kind of work carefully because it affects the whole property. We aim to make sure the installation is suitable, safe and ready for how the property is actually used.
Practical Electrical Improvements Around The Home
Alongside the larger upgrades, we also completed a number of everyday improvements.
We installed additional sockets, upgraded lighting, relocated a light switch and replaced a customer-supplied light fitting. These might sound like smaller jobs, but they can make a big difference to daily life.
A socket in the right place can get rid of messy extension leads. Better lighting can make a room feel completely different. Moving a light switch can fix an annoying layout issue that someone has lived with for years.
We also installed an outside socket on the pool house, making the outdoor area more practical and easier to use.

Helping With A New Business In Rye
Ian also called us when his daughter took over a unit in Rye for her new chiropractic business. The electrics needed reviewing and a new lighting system had to be installed.
For business premises, this kind of work needs to be handled clearly and efficiently. The space has to be safe, practical and ready for customers. Ian said:
“When my daughter took over a unit in Rye for her new business in the Chiropractic world, we needed the electrics reviewed as well as a new lighting system installed. We have always found TS provides a prompt and efficient service, from initial contact via the office to reviewing, pricing and clearly stating options as well as work timeframes.”
Follow-Up Matters Too
Ian also mentioned something we think is important: what happens when something needs follow-up.
“When something has not gone quite right, a warranty issue or the like, TS have always managed the process and repair for me.”
No contractor can pretend that every product or part will behave perfectly forever. What matters is how those situations are handled. If something needs attention, we stay involved and help get it resolved.
The Result
Over several years, we have helped Ian improve and maintain the electrics across his home, pool house and family business premises.
For us, this case study is really about consistency.
Ian ended his feedback with:
“I am keen for some new works shortly and know I will need to book in soon or they will be busy over the coming months! Solar next please TS! Highly recommended!”
That is the kind of feedback we are always grateful for.
