We recently had the opportunity to work with CourtFit Padel, and were very happy to give them a brand new lighting system for their padel courts.

Initial Contact and Assessment

James, representing CourtFit, reached out to us through WhatsApp on the recommendation of a previous satisfied customer. He needed assistance with the installation of lighting in a premium hotel’s new padel courts, as well as some additional work in the office on-site.

On April 30th, we provided James with a comprehensive quote for the padel court lighting project. Impressed with our proposal, he accepted the quote the very next day and requested an additional quote for office electrical work. We promptly provided the second quote, which was also accepted, and we scheduled the project for May 12th and 13th.

Project Scope and Quotation

The project scope included installing eight floodlights for the padel courts, and various electrical installations in the on-site office. For the padel courts, we were to supply and secure the floodlights, ensuring they were connected to two separate timer switches mounted on the external office wall.

In the office, the work required was:

  • Installation of two double socket outlets (Dso)
  • Installation of one floodlight
  • Installation of one switch
  • Installation of one consumer unit

The office would be supplied from an external electric box using Steel Wire Armoured (SWA) cable.

All the wiring for these installations was to be enclosed in PVC trunking, to ensure total neatness when the job was complete.

Our quotes detailed every aspect of the work, from materials to labour costs, ensuring transparency and no hidden fees. This approach reassured James and helped streamline the decision-making process.

Execution and Completion

On May 12th, our team arrived at the site, ready to execute the project. We began by addressing the padel courts’ lighting needs. The installation began with aligning four floodlights on each court, ensuring optimal coverage. These floodlights were wired using SWA cable from two separate timer switches, providing flexible and energy-efficient lighting control.

Next, we turned our attention to the office. We installed the specified electrical outlets, floodlight, switch, and consumer unit, all within the PVC trunking for a clean and organised appearance. The office’s electrical supply was securely connected from the external electric box using SWA cable, ensuring durability and safety.

Challenges and Solutions

Every project presents unique challenges, and this one was no exception. One of the more distinct challenges of this job was ensuring that the floodlights were correctly aligned to provide even lighting across the courts. They also needed to avoid causing glare or shadows that could interfere with gameplay. Our team used precision measurements to align the floodlights accurately, achieving optimal lighting conditions.

In the office, the limited space for routing cables required careful planning to maintain a tidy and professional finish. Using PVC trunking allowed us to conceal the wiring effectively, ensuring a safe and aesthetically pleasing installation.

Customer Satisfaction

Upon completion, we conducted a thorough inspection and testing of all installations to ensure everything was functioning perfectly. James was particularly pleased with the unobtrusive integration of the lighting systems and the clean finish of the office electrical work. His feedback highlighted our commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.

James expressed his gratitude, stating, “Great service from the team. Worked all weekend to get everything finished. Thanks again for all of the hard work.”
